How to find a good speech voice?
The standard speech voice is not as good as it could be. I don't know any good free voices. If there are any good free voices that compare to my options please let me know and I will post it here.
Here are your options:
1. AT&T Natural Voices speech engine Mike and Crystal
2. Microsoft Streets & Trips 2006 Anna
3. Microsoft Streets & Trips 2007 Anna
4. default voice Sam
The AT&T package has a male (Make16) and female (Crystal16) voice and both are very good; Streets & Trips has one very good female (Anna) voice. I bought all the software packages. I think Streets & Trips is a good deal if you like the extra map feature. The AT&T package has the best voice you can find on the web. If you search you will find some demos, just compare those to your default voice (Sam).
